Higher internet speed without a cost increase, but new complications.

And yes, I checked the up/down speeds before and after and it made a huge difference.  They weren't lying after all.

Young ladies, daughters of HuSites, girlfriends of anonimouse;

If a doctor ever tells you "you're too young to have breast cancer", keep switching doctors until you find one that doesn't have his/her head up his/her ass.

Sadly, female doctors appear no more likely to be informed on this issue than male doctors.

SeaTac to Bellevue.  We're going for a conference, we'd like to not have to rent a car.

Bought a boat and I sailed off in it
Don't think anybody gonna miss me anyway

Been a while since I wrote one of these.  I’m at the top of my goal weight range, and cycling has really replaced flying in my life.

I once heard that reality “is the set of assertions too costly to disprove, and promulgated by persons with sufficient reputation to defend against ad hominem attacks using Occcam’s razor.” Those of you with a better background in philosophy I’m sure will point out that it’s a nonsensical “definition”. That’s not what I came here to talk about though.

Reality bites.

I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

Mom had been doing so well.  I got the call yesterday morning.

Print Story That 5 year thing? I voted worse
Diary

Five years ago today (14 March 2006), I wrote a diary. I didn’t know it at the time of course, but the first bullet would change everything, forever.

It’s hard not to see things as generally worse. My view is clouded by events of the last six months to be sure, and I have to admit to a natural pessimistic/cynical outlook, but the good spots mostly (but not all) seem to fall under the category of “it could be worse”.

You begin to wonder why you came

Overdid it on the bike Sunday (27 Feb) - 61.3 USizicstanian miles (just shy of 99 klicks for all you civilized people) in 4:24 of time in motion.  An additional 29 minutes of 'stopped' time due to failing to tighten my seat post mounted dual water bottle holder, and the subsequent hilarity.

More than just bike content this time, updates on family and the Apache.

Only cycling content within  - some bits rather SoCal/Orange County specific.

45.3 miles in 3:10 (2:55 in motion - darn traffic lights!) all essentially flat.

Yes, I'm like a kid at Christmas who just got the one thing he REALLY wanted.  I'm enjoying this tremendously.
